Daren Forward has a practice that exclusively deals with trauma. He undertook fellowship training at the Baltimore Shock Trauma unit, generally acknowledged as one of the leading trauma centres in the world.
Daren qualified from Oxford University Medical School in 1997 before commencing basic surgical training in Nottingham. He remained in Nottingham as a specialist registrar, including training in the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, and completed his training as a fellow at the Shock Trauma Centre and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA. He was also a research fellow at the University of Nottingham, completing a Doctor of Medicine thesis on the long-term outcome of fractures of the distal radius.
Since 2009, Daren has been a consultant in orthopaedic trauma at NUH. In addition to his bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery, Daren has a master’s degree in physiological sciences and a doctorate of medicine, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
