Paul Dixon qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine and completed his basic training in South Wales before moving to the northern region for his specialist orthopaedic training.
He has completed two fellowships, one in knee surgery in Sydney and the other in trauma in Denver.
He is now a consultant knee and trauma surgeon at Sunderland Royal Hospital with a special interest in the care of patients with fragility fractures. He was a member of the BOA trauma committee for eight years, chairing it for three of those and is the immediate past president of the OTS.
