Mateen Arastu undertook his orthopaedic training on the South West Thames rotation in London and was appointed as a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire in 2014.
His main clinical interests are in the management of complex adult trauma patients with multiple injuries including rib fracture fixation and non-union surgery and also performs lower limb arthroplasty surgery.
He graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London and completed a Masters in Orthopaedic Engineering at Cardiff University with distinction.
He has completed his trauma fellowship training at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Canada in 2010/11. He has worked during this year with Professor Rick Buckley and has a specialist interest in the treatment of calcaneal fractures. He has also worked as a consultant trauma surgeon at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham
