Current guidance from NICE states that ‘MRI should be considered at first line imaging in patients with suspected scaphoid fractures’. This study aims to assess current practice in terms of the local guidance and the management of the suspected scaphoid fracture.
If your unit regularly reviews patients following acute wrist trauma then you are eligible to take part. All collaborators that sign up will receive a ‘toolkit’ via email which explains the process of the study in more detail. The trainee collaborator shall be responsible for collecting the survey responses specified for your unit.
All trainee collaborators who gather a full set of surveys and those completing a survey will also receive collaborator status on any subsequent presentations and publications. The set of surveys will consist of a surgeon lead survey, an ED lead survey, an MIU lead survey and possibly an interface services survey if this is possible.
