Explore evidence in musculoskeletal trauma at the University of Oxford

About Oxford Trauma & Emergency Care Research Group

Trauma and emergencies are huge issues for patients, the NHS and society more broadly. Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care at the Kadoorie Institute, University of Oxford, seeks to improve patient care by designing and testing new treatments and new treatment pathways. We aim to deliver better outcomes for patients and more efficient care within the NHS and other healthcare system worldwide. We run a number of clinical trials and related studies in trauma and emergency care to guide best practice in the field. Our work informs practice and policy in the NHS and internationally through bodies such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
“There is no point doing research if the evidence generated is not used to change policy and practice. To make this evidence easily available to patients, healthcare workers and policy makers, we are excited to launch our new evidence website. For the first time, all of the results from our studies into musculoskeletal trauma will be available in one place. There also opportunities to get involved in new research, including implementation studies. We hope that the website will be useful to OTS members, and indeed orthopaedic trauma surgeons around the world. Please have a look!”
