Revamped OTS website

Revamped OTS website

A note from Andy Gray, our communication and website lead. – The Orthopaedic Trauma Society has a revamped and updated website

I Hope you have all had a good 2024 and gearing up for an even better 2025. The Orthopaedic Trauma Society has a revamped and updated website – Orthopaedic Trauma Society.

Thank you to Jim Carr and his website design team at Helios Digital for putting in a monumental effort to turn this around over the past 2-3 months. The website is still in its infancy but has some great sections and materials already available.

When you first visit the new site, you’ll notice that some areas are restricted to members only. To access all the content and pages, please go to the members option in the menu bar.  Here, you can choose to Log in or Register.  You are receiving this email to the same address used previously to register with the OTS.  Please use this to log in and then request a password reset.  This should then allow you access to all the pages. Any new registrations will take time to approve before full access is set.

I would like to ask that you forward the link on and hopefully, we can snowball the membership in the weeks and months ahead.

The website will give information on the various individual OTS committees and their leads – Research, Education, Policy, Comms, etc. We are keen to re-engage with the membership and get people involved who would like to contribute. For example – have a look at the ‘Academia’ tab and the various sections. The ‘OTS Academia Library’ has a few interesting articles (including my own trauma operating technique notes – theory and reality often diverging) – send in some articles that you would like to see on there – keep them evidence-based and practice improving.

AO have their own section with a description & timetable of the 2025 courses available; we will engage with the Fragility Fracture Network and link in with the BOA trauma committee; BJJ will be forwarding summary pdfs of their trauma-related articles, and there are resource links to all the main trauma related journals as well as the OTA and BOAST guidelines. Once we have an idea of the membership numbers, we will renew our annual society subscription to Orthoevidence, which will be free to registered members from January 2025.

Also, if you click on the ‘About’ tab and then ‘OTS Archive’ you can access for free all the recorded presentations from the 2020 virtual meeting and last year’s 2024 congress from Nottingham. Moving forward the BOA will allow us to upload all the revalidation lectures from the September 2024 BOA congress in February 2025. There is information on next year’s OTS meeting in Sheffield (5th & 6th June 2025) with the preceding clinical trials day and pelvic and acetabular forum (4th June 2025).

As communications and website lead my plan is to send out a monthly newsletter to update on the Orthopaedic Trauma Society activities and website developments, keeping things current. If you would like to get involved in any aspect of the society or put forward ideas on how we can take things forward then please contact: info@orthopaedictrauma.org.uk or e-mail me directly at andrew.gray1@nhs.net.

Please also remember to follow our new LinkedIn page which will also cover many updates shared in email and across the website.

Best wishes,
Andrew Gray (Communications and Website lead OTS)
